I will cover the 15 best ways to hide weed—small amounts, big amounts, in your car, in your room. I got you covered. Read on to find out how you can hide your weed today.

If the hiding of weed is because of your parents or the regulations in the area you live. Therefore, it is wise to be able to do so in a foolproof way.

I have to disclaim that: I do not support the safe keeping of illegal items.

If you want to learn more about how not to get caught, read my article here.

Amount Matters A LOT

Imagine one fart in your room. It is not pleasant, but it is not hell. Now imagine ten, all at once. Weed works like that. More significant amounts will be more work, and the work will be so much more important.

When dealing with considerable amounts, you will probably have to double wrap or resort to buying a vacuum sealer, vacuum sealing, and then placing it in an airtight container. Cannabis smells a lot: more weed, more smell.

If dealing with smaller amounts, the amount of work is also much smaller. I will share a handful of easy-access hiding places with you.

Why Is Weed Odor So Pungeant?

Briefly explained; Cannabis contains terpenes or "terps". These come from the plant's trichomes. The buds potency matter because more potency comes from more trichomes. More trichomes lead to more terpenes. This is why it is important to hide your weed and scent-proof it.

Smaller Amounts At Home

Smaller amounts are usually a breeze, especially if no one is going to search thoroughly through your stuff. But, there are absolutely ways to hide weed, even in plain sight.

A cool and dark place will always be best.

Airtight Storage Box / Or Similar

My favorite solution and the one I use myself. I have a lunchbox from IKEA. Spray-painted black because it is see-through. Granted, this solution takes up quite a bit of space and will suit you better if you don't think people will actively look without the evidence of, for example, weed smell. You could also use a glass jar similar to mason jars. These are also air-tight.

These can be in any size you want, but it has to be in an airtight container, not just a container. It should fit all your equipment, your papers, filters, herb, grinder, screens, pipes, and cigarettes or GreenGo. This LockNLock container is an ideal example.

For all of the other options listed below, an airtight container can always be helpful as the extra step. Another serious upside to having everything in one box is that the chance of you misplacing something and someone finding it before you drastically drop. You also save a lot of time packing your to-go kit.

Bottom Drawer

The bottom drawer works wonders if you have a similar nightstand like this one.

You want to place all items in an airtight jar or container and put said jar or container all the way in the back of the drawer. To make this a next-level hiding spot, stash lots of random stuff there as well.

Throw in every small thing with no designated place. Pens, power banks, rubber bands, Carmex, scissors, etc. This drawer should be messy AF. If you don't have an airtight container, I recommend plastic bags adequately wrapped up.

Hallowed Book / Stash Book

Feel like feeling like James Bond? A hollowed book is something people will expect but never actually expect. They have seen it in movies, and that's it. No one will ever expect you to actually do this in real life.

Making your own is a lot of work, and I will not recommend it. There are great options on Amazon for premade ones, even with locks. A great option is this one depicting the New English Dictionary. It does not stick out from the crowd and looks natural. This specific one has a code lock. That way, it may turn out fine even if someone finds it.

Closet

This definitely works best if your closet has doors. Again I recommend the airtight lunchbox, but plastic bags work fine too.

Stick your box or bag into the far back of the closet, preferably down low or up high. NOT in the direct sight of the eye. If wanting to be extra careful and plan to store for a while, cling wrap can be applied around the bag.

Computer Case or Old Computer

You probably have a gaming computer if you are a gamer like me. Good computer cases can easily be opened by unscrewing two thumbscrews in the back. Seal the marijuana as best as you can and keep it in the hollow space of your case.

If your computer runs hot, keep it elsewhere. Heat can cause your buds to smell even more. Old computers can also be great, as no one ever really checks out the insides.

Some cases, like this one, have even easier access. Just pull out the window on one side.

Deodorant Stick

If you ever used an entire deodorant stick, you probably just threw it away. However, removing the plastic the perfume used to be attached to and cleaning it with warm soapy water will result in an almost completely air-tight container.

You can fit quite a bit of weed in one stick. After you fill it with a weed bag or two, please leave it in the junk drawer, back of the closet, in your computer case, or whatever. Just make sure no one will feel like borrowing it. I have used this method to hide weed a lot. Works like a charm.

If you feel like using something other than an old stick, you can purchase already empty ones on Amazon.

Diversion Cans / Deceptive Stash Boxes

There are lots of secret weed stash boxes made to look like ordinary household items. There are soda cans, salt shakers, tire foam spray, and canned tomato tins. These are smell-proof and are designed for exactly this purpose. You don't get more proper storage than this.

These work ingeniously because they actually look like something completely normal. Hiding weed is no longer a challenge; your stash spot can be your desk.

You and Miss Mary Jane can finally be close. Your family members won't know better and will assume its coca cola or something.

Remember, these are made to hide weed. If you want to hide your weed as professionally as possible, these are the way to go. Unless you have a full-on FBI raid, no one is going to search your house thoroughly enough to find these hiding spots.

Inside your Toilet Tank...

You can easily remove the top lid of your toilet to reveal a compartment usually filled with water. If you seal your dry herbs in a baggie or two, you can tape it to the underside of the lid.

I really have to recommend using strong and good tape. Cheap tape could result in your stash being drowned in toilet water.

It might be a little too humid to stash inside for a long time. This hiding method works well when traveling, and you can't access your usual methods. Travel safely.

Old VHS Box

If you don't know what VHS boxes are, keep scrolling. This is not for you.

However, if you know about VHS, you also know that we don't use them anymore. At all. This is why it is a great place to hide your weed. No one ever opens or uses these anymore, so I would say your Cannabis is safe here. 8/10 stash spot.

Smaller Amounts In Cars

When dealing with storing smelly shit in your car. Vacuum sealing is the way to go. If you were to say, get stopped by the police, and they have dogs, they will be able to smell anything not vacuum sealed. There are ways around this, but only some of the ways I list work like this.

There are plenty more advanced ways to make trap cars. These are just the simple hiding spots. If trying to be creative yourself, try not to stash it near a metal surface close to a heat source. This could ruin your Cannabis.

Gas Tank Cover

Actually, outside of your car. You can easily store a bag under the gas tank cover. Lift it up, put the bag inside (maybe some two-sided tape), and shut it.

Over the years, more and more people have been doing it, and it's beginning to be an obvious spot. Nevertheless, it may work very well.

Under Glove Compartment

There are many who don't know this, but your car's glove compartment might have a false bottom. Check your to see if this applies to you. You can also search for small spaces elsewhere that are out of plain sight.

The glove compartment is probably one of the first things that police will check. If under a false bottom and properly sealed, no problem. Probably...

Secret Compartment

Getting a secret compartment for your car can be expensive. An example of a secret compartment is a car radio that opens when you press some buttons. Or an engine part that looks official but doesn't do anything.

Magazine/Storage Pouch

Not the safest, but it works in a hurry. This should be like your junk drawer at home. Store a lot of random shit there, magazines, pens, tissues, and old gadgets.

After this is completed, you can put your deodorant stick there as well. Or another storage container. I think you are starting to become a pro on how to hide weed.

Bigger Amounts At Home

I never recommend having ample amounts of marijuana at your house if you don't want to get caught. However, the price can be much lower if you buy more. I would say anything over 10g is considered big.

Vacuum Sealed

Suppose you want to follow my guide on how to hide weed. And you want to hide a lot of it? You want to get a vacuum sealer. This is the only form of proper storage I recommend.

I will display how to improve it even more, but large amounts are large amounts, and it makes hiding weed a little more complicated and expensive.

I recommend the Bonsenkitchen one from Amazon. It works very well and isn't that expensive.

You may even want to vacuum seal it twice to make the weed smell like nothing times two.

Pet Food Bag

After vacuum sealing, you can hide the bag in pet food. Dog food, cat food, camel food. The point is that pet food smells quite strongly and can work even better to cover the marijuana scent.

Bag of Coffee

Coffee works almost just like pet food. Nothing fancy. Just make sure to get it all the way in there so it is not floating on the surface.

Large Stash Box

By large stash box, I mean something like a safe or something. Life could get pretty complicated if you decide you need to keep this much Cannabis locked away. I really suggest keeping it to a small amount at a time to stay away from unwanted situations.

Smoking Cannabis is fun, but fresh weed makes it more fun. Try only to have a reasonable amount at one time.

Inside Wall or Floor

Last but not least. Inside walls. For large amounts, this would have to be a wall panel that you could remove or a floor panel.

After removing said panel, you can store vacuum-sealed bags. There should be enough space. I heard this environment provides the perfect humidity, and the fact that it is a dark spot helps it keep its quality for longer.

Summary

Thank you for learning with me; how to hide weed. Cannabis users have always found extremely clever ways of designing their stash spots and putting them in everything from stuffed animals to toilet tanks. The last thing to note is; always be careful. Always check twice if you don't want anyone to find what you're hiding.

Remember, if weed is illegal in your country, you can be persecuted for it. More significant amounts will most likely lead to harsher punishments. Sometimes you feel like you have a really well-wrapped stash, and nothing can stop you. I assure you there is always a risk involved when storing contraband.

If doing it anyways, make sure to use something other than a toilet paper roll. Only stash scent-proof items. Hiding weed can be stressful. Remember to smoke some as well.

If it is your first time smoking weed, I recommend you check out my blog on what to expect the first time your smoking weed.

Be thorough and keep trouble out of your hair. Be safe, and good luck! Again, I do not condone the safekeeping or use of illegal items.
