Smoking marijuana is super fun and super chill. But if you are like me, you want to know what you're putting into your body every time. My philosophy is that drugs should not be mixed, especially in secret. There can be grave dangers to smoking laced weed. If you are experiencing symptoms or think you got bad, bud, you've come to the right place.
If you smoked laced weed and are experiencing abnormal symptoms and are afraid for your health, get medical attention ASAP. Drugs can be deadly.
How And What is Marijuana Laced With?
The most common form of lacing weed (with other drugs) is sprinkling other drugs onto the bud, or pre-ground weed. It can also be "wet" laced. This is the process of dipping a joint or blunt into a liquid drug or chemical mix.
SO! The best thing you can do to avoid laced weed is not to buy pre-rolled joints or pre-ground herbs.
Luckily for you, marijuana isn't usually laced with other drugs. It does not make sense for dealers to give you additional products for the same price. But, they will often mix it with cheaper substances like;
Laundry detergent
Perfumes
Tiny shards of broken glass
Or a heap of other look, weight, and smell-increasing stuff.
This stuff is also bad for you; you should not smoke it.
As I mentioned earlier, drug dealers don't usually lace weed with other drugs. This wouldn't be cost-effective. Most of the time, when it comes to laced weed, the user laces it themselves to increase the potency. Keep this in mind when smoking with people you don't know or usually smoke with. They might like mixing their shit with other substances.
How to Tell if You Got Cocaine-Laced Weed
Cocaine-laced weed might sound fun, but trust me. It is not. It puts tremendous stress on your heart, lungs, and brain.
Cocaine is a white powder (looks like powdered sugar) that smells and tastes chemical-ish from the chemical solvent used in its production. It has a metallic taste and will numb your mouth if contact is established.
If you spot white powder in your weed, more than expected (some crystal formations are typical), it might be cocaine or another substance.
Symptoms of smoking marijuana laced with cocaine are:
Intense heart pounding
Shallow breathing
Numbness
Paranoia
Being extremely agitated
High energy
Smoking cocaine-laced weed can, in the worst-case scenario, lead to a heart attack or a stroke.
If you want to learn more about cocaine, and the Coca plant, the Wikipedia article has a bunch of helpful information.
How to Tell if You Got PCP-Laced Marijuana
PCP or angel dust is similar in appearance to cocaine. However, the taste is far more chemical-ish.
To spot PCP-laced marijuana, use the same technique as with cocaine. Look for white powder/crystals on your bud. A little is expected, but too much can mean it is not pure weed.
If you have smoke PCP laced weed, you will, without a doubt, know you smoked something other than weed. PCP is a powerful hallucinogenic drug that will rip apart reality and send you on a trip.
PCP Laced weed Symptoms are:
Severe hallucinations
Severe disorientation
Numbness
Erratic urges and behaviors
Slurred speech
If you think you have smoked PCP with your weed, seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY!
Another scary thing with PCP is that you can dissolve it into a liquid in which you can dip a joint. It will leave crystals behind when it dries, and those can be hard to spot.
NEVER SMOKE A JOINT YOU DON'T TRUST. I'll also remind you to try to only buy nugs of weed. NO pre-rolls or pre-ground shit.
How to Tell if You Got Acid-Laced Weed
Acid, or LSD, is a popular potent hallucinogenic drug. If you smoke weed laced with acid, you will probably be fine. Acid breaks down almost completely when in contact with heat.
But, when people lace weed with acid, they don't usually mix it in with the weed. They dip the filter in an acid mix and let it dry. This way, when your mouth comes into contact with the filter, your mouth will absorb the LSD, and 3,2,1, you are on your way.
Symptoms of smoking acid-laced weed are:
A powerful hallucinatory high
Impaired coordination
Extreme paranoia
Anxiety
LSD is a long-lasting drug that can be mentally destructive if you're not ready for it. I urge you again. Don't smoke joints you don't trust, and don't mix LSD the first time you try it. This will most likely end in chaos.
How to Tell if You Got Weed Laced With Other Additives
As stated, weed is most commonly laced (by drug dealers) with cheap additives. It would cost too much money to lace it with other illicit drugs. Just because you're not smoking other drugs does not mean it is not bad for you.
How to Tell if Weed is Laced With Glass
This is actually an easy one! Step one is to inspect your bud. If there seems like there are more crystals (trichomes) than there should be, you should do step two.
Step two is getting a CD and rubbing your weed against it. If it scratches up the surface, it's got glass, and you want to throw it out. Any smooth or soft plastic will suffice if no CD is in reach.
How to Tell if Weed Is Laced With Detergent
Also a super easy one. First, some backstory, people who lace marijuana usually do it to make it heavier, so they can sell less for more. Laundry detergent happens to weigh quite a bit.
To check for soap/laundry detergent, shake a small piece of your bud vigorously in clean, warm water. If bubbles arise, there is soap in your weed, and you want to throw it out.
Also, if there is no soap in the piece of weed, still throw that piece out, as wet weed doesn't smoke very well.
How to Tell if Weed Is Laced With Solvents or Other Chemicals
There are a lot of chemicals and things your weed could be laced with. And again, we don't want to smoke laced weed; if you have smoked laced weed, contact a medical professional.
Spotting DIY chemical-laced weed can be tricky, but it usually isn't impossible. Most chemicals are flammable or will react to heat in a particular "weirdish" way.
So, hold some of your bud over flames and see how it reacts. If anything out of the ordinary happens, it's probably bad and could produce hallucinations... (probably not, but maybe).
How Laced Weed Has Impacted Legality and Social View
The issue of laced marijuana has had a significant impact on society, especially when it comes to rules and regulations, how people see it, and the idea that it's more dangerous than it really is. Lacing means adding other substances to marijuana, and it has affected how we think about cannabis.
A critical impact of laced marijuana is that it has made it harder to create clear rules and laws about it. When marijuana is laced with other things, figuring out how to regulate its production, sale, and use becomes a challenge. This is because the added substances can be risky or harmful, and we want to ensure people are safe when using marijuana. Legal weed has also helped a lot by ensuring proper production and proper selling systems. This will reduce the amount of laced weed we see.
Laced weed has also influenced how people think about it. When there are stories about marijuana being mixed with other substances, it can make it seem more dangerous than it is. The media sometimes focuses on these stories, creating a false idea that marijuana is harmful. This makes it difficult to have honest conversations about its benefits and risks.
This perception of laced marijuana as more dangerous has stigmatized cannabis users. People who use marijuana, even in its pure form, may face judgment because of its association with lacing. This stigma stops us from talking openly about responsible use and the medical uses of marijuana. It's a problem because some people who could benefit from marijuana may avoid it due to these unfounded fears.
To deal with these concerns, we need to educate people and raise awareness. We should provide accurate information about the risks of laced weed and highlight the benefits and potential dangers of using pure marijuana. By doing this, we can have better discussions based on facts and help people make informed choices.
In conclusion, laced marijuana has affected rules and regulations, how people perceive it, and the idea that it's more dangerous than it really is. By educating people, sharing accurate information, and having solid rules, we can overcome the challenges of laced weed and help everyone better understand cannabis.
The Best Tips to Not Smoke Laced Weed
Suppose you have a drug addiction. You need to get addiction treatment. This is super important as you'll make less of an intelligent decision regarding smoking or not smoking. Substance abuse research shows us that addicts will smoke it even though it has signs of other substances. SO, GET ADDICTION TREATMENT!
Marijuana addiction (marijuana dependency) is not something to be taken lightly and is something you should want to get fixed. Read my post on The Benefits of Quitting Weed.
Legal marijuana is by far the safest way to go to avoid illegal drugs. It should 100% of the time be clean, unadulterated cannabis. No harder drugs are involved.
Trust your dealer, and don't return to a dealer who has supplied bad shit in the past. Even if they are your only option, it's better to be sober and want to be high. Then to be high and want to be sober.
I tell you not to return to a "bad dealer" because they should know precisely what they got. If they aren't experienced enough to spot laced weed, they should not be selling it. And if they are personally lacing weed, they suck as human beings.
Get a drug testing kit. This is never a stupid idea. If you're gonna do drugs, you should at least know what drugs you are doing, especially if it's fentanyl-laced weed.
Here is a link to Amazon's most popular drug-testing kit
FORTUNATELY, Fentanyl laced marijuana is not as common as it is being showcased in the media. According to fact checkers Snopes.
Good Luck!
Remember to always keep in mind that our favorite healing herb is sold and operated within criminal environments in big parts of the world. Your weed might be laced. And it could have profound effects we don't want. Lacing cannabis is stupid and shouldn't be done, but it does happen. A marijuana cigarette can be dangerous, take steps to maintain safety!
I want you guys to stay safe! Always!
